1965

Henri PEDELUCQ, founder of SICA DES GAVES, and Henri Soyez discover the modern day kiwifruit as a marketable product in Europe

1967 1 Ha, first commercial European plantations in Caresse, in the Pyrénées Atlantiques region, in the Adour valley
1971-1972 First French kiwifruit sold in Europe: on the German market, via the SCIPIO group
1978 SIKIG is founded, and has remained the largest private producer in France ever since (15 % of French national kiwifruit production)
1992 Julien PEDELUCQ comes on board with a view to replacing his father Henri PEDELUCQ as the CEO of SIKIG group
1995 • First prize for quality at the ANUGA Trade Fair (Cologne, Germany), the only such international award for kiwifruit quality
• Julien PEDELUCQ takes over from his father as CEO of the company
1995 Henri PEDELUCQ passes away on November 21st 1995. The group boasts 150 producers which makes it the largest kiwifruit producer in France (7 000 tonnes annual volume) and the largest in GARLANPY, the first group of kiwifruit producers in France
1996 Joint foundation of the Red Label association and first sales of fruit complying with the L/35-90 specifications
1997 First prize at the national level for French kiwifruit, first Red Label kiwifruit sold (Jan. 07)
1998 First prize at the national level for French kiwifruit
2000 ISO 9002 certification (No. 9910563) for the reception, storage, packaging and distribution of kiwifruit
2001 Sikig and ZESPRI® plant 100 ha of Zespri® Gold Kiwifruit and become the first French producers for this variety
2002 First French orchard grafted with the new yellow-fleshed variety, licensed in New Zealand under the Zespri® Gold trademark
2003 • Iso 9001 version 2000
• Some orchards are certified organic
• First orchards become EUREGAP certified
• December 2003 - involvement with DEMAIN LA TERRE (Tomorrow’s Earth)
• Prize winner for Le Prix Français de la Qualité (French prize for quality) in the small and medium-sized business category
2004 • First efforts to obtain ISO 14001 certification. First organic kiwifruit sold
• AFNOR group diagnostic - SD21000 - April 1st 2004
2005 First sales of Zespri® Gold kiwifruit
2006 Initial joint certification ISO 14001.V2004 and ISO 9001
2007 • Recognized for the Quality Prize in Aquitaine, EFQM business model, R4E certificate - 3 stars
• First organic kiwifruit imports from Chili
2008 SIKIG gets involved with 3D : Represented on the www.generations3d.com website as a company committed to sustainable development
2009 • Renewal of ISO9001 + ISO14001
• Generali prize for sustainable development (Sept. 2009) - Label “Agir pour notre avenir” (Act with the future in mind)
• AFAQ 1000NR 3* (Sept 2009)
• 3 New varietiestasted with Zespri
• PGI (Protected Geographical Identification) received under the name “Adour Kiwifruit”
2010 • Lean Management launched
• BRC certification for Gold
2011 • Renewal of membership of the Demain la Terre association, with a view to setting up a "certified organic" label in partnership with ECOCERT
• Participation in the national initiative for environmental labelling
• Bilan Carbone (Carbon footprint analysis)
• Grafting of 4 new additional varieties
