Heading for Sustainable Development

SIKIG has been involved with “3D-Destination Développement Durable^®” initiative (Heading for Sustainable Development) since 2008. This joint initiative is led by the FRCAA (Regional Federation for Farming Cooperatives in the Aquitaine region) and the AFNOR Group. The 3-D programme aims to assist farming cooperatives and food processing industries wanting to move towards sustainable development practices. SIKIG is among 13 other French pilot companies in the Aquitaine region who are committed to this programme.

• The 3D Diagnosis : SIKIG has developed a 3D diagnosis. This evaluation tool is based on 8 different criteria (Governance, Markets and Customers, Health and Safety in the Workplace, Environment, Economic performance, Social and Societal values and System and Product Quality). The goals are as follows :

                > to evaluate company practices with regard to sustainable development,
                > to have the relevance of these practices assessed by sustainable development experts using a rating method,
                > to identify, plan and route ways of implementing sustainable development.

• The 3D Collective : Working within a collective organisation, SIKIG regularly encounters other businesses involved in Sustainable Development practices. This is an opportunity to share and exchange ideas on best practices and to discuss questions about improving performance. Industry workshops are planned around themes brought up by 3D companies and include : social dialogue within the company, industrial performance, energy performance, relationship to sustainable development, writing a Company Charter...
